I’ve recently been introduced to a very inspiring and motivational author, entrepreneur and fellow world traveler. Tim Ferriss has 3 major books: The 4 Hour Work Week, The 4 Hour Body & The 4 Hour Chef. Since this is a fitness blog I will focus on The 4 Hour Body although I am reading the other two as well and they are equally as intriguing and captivating.
The 4 Hour Body is Tim Ferriss’s compilation of his obsession with data and the human body. There are 8 major sections of the book:
SUBTRACTING FAT – ADDING MUSCLE – IMPROVING SEX – PERFECTING SLEEP – REVERSING INJURIES – RUNNING FASTER AND FARTHER – GETTING STRONGER – FROM SWIMMING TO SWINGING ON LONGER AND BETTER LIFE (Living Forever: Vaccines, Bleeding, and Other Fun)
This book is HUGE! It’s a fatty! This thing is plum full of awesome information. Not only is it highly informative, Tim’s writing is hilarious. He is very relatable and I find myself continually laughing as I’m reading. It’s a great book to just flip though and find little tidbits throughout. I’m not saying this could be an end-all-be-all book for your fat loss or training goals but it is an excellent resource.
YOU WILL LEARN (IN LESS THAN 30 MINUTES EACH)
-How to prevent fat gain while bingeing (X-mas, holidays, weekends)
-How to increase fat-loss 300% with a few bags of ice
-How Tim gained 34 pounds of muscle in 28 days, without steroids, and in four hours of total gym time
-How to sleep 2 hours per day and feel fully rested
-How to produce 15-minute female orgasms
-How to triple testosterone and double sperm count
-How to go from running 5 kilometers to 50 kilometers in 12 weeks
-How to reverse “permanent” injuries
-How to add 150+ pounds to your lifts in 6 months
With a clincher like this how could you pick up this book and walk away? I’ve been using some of his techniques to try them out for myself. I will keep you all updated on my thoughts and results. Below are a few links to some great 4 Hour Body resources.
